So, this week I had the pleasure of partaking in a wonderful Twitter event called #BoWriChat! What does it stand for, you ask?
Go ahead. Guess.
Okay, fine. Don’t guess. It stands for “Bored Writer’s Chat.” So there.
But seriously, Bored Writer’s Chat is an event that (I think) was created by @JewelELeonard (or at least hosted by her), and it’s amazing. Because instead of writing, now you have a chat designed to connect you with other writers who also aren’t writing!
Sounds like a win-win to me!
I had no clue what it was when I jumped on board, but once I realized, I couldn’t leave. It was amazing. I asked my question about using African American Vernacular English (or Ebonics) in my dialogue, and because there were lots of bored writers following the hashtag, I actually got replies!
And amazing Jewel E. Leonard was replying to ALL of it. This girl, guys. Seriously.
After several hours of chatting with other writers about their projects, answering and asking questions, and finding common interests, I’m happy to say I made several new friends!
(And got 25 more followers! I’m over 100 on Twitter now, peeps!! Not so bad for your Twilliterate blog hostess.)
So if you’re bored, go follow Jewel E. Leonard. Because not only is her Twitter feed awesome, but her #BoWriChat is the best time waster since the NaNoWriMo forums.
And now I’m going back to surfing this Gravity Falls Pinterest board, because holy shit, the feelz that show left me still haven’t gone away. Wish me luck.
